Shadira Sugrim
I grew up in the middle class of Guyana. I have 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
When they sent clothing from Canada and America to my mom, I would take apart the lining to her dresses, coats and other outfits to make incredible outfits for myself. It made her so mad. I came to Canada in search of a better life for myself. I was 19, eager to learn and determined to carve my way in the in the textile world. I have an eye for fabric and design and I love to make beautiful things.
